Cyber threats have been evolving rapidly during the last two decades and the legal profession not only is not immune, but has become a prime target. From the Panama Papers and the Paradise Papers, to the substantial losses already suffered by UK firms, lawyers need to understand why and how they are being targeted.

In this seminar we will discuss several cases from around the world in order to build a more comprehensive image of the cyber threats’ theatre.

We will also explore some common questions and misconceptions myths surrounding cyber threats, like “Why me?” and “I am too small a fish to be targeted.”

We will then move towards the different attack vectors, focusing on the most important and most efficient: social engineering. At this stage some simple exercises will aim to alarm and scare the participants, in order to make them understand how vulnerable their data is.

Last but not least, we shall discuss some of the legal and ethical issues behind data breaches and data loss.

This course may also be used as evidence of due diligence for GDPR compliance.

The event begins at 2pm. Delegate registration is open from 1:30pm.
